Urbandictionary- Emo « Thread Started on Dec 13, 2005, 12:33am »
I wonder if any of you have ever been to www.urbandictionary.com? If you have, you would know that its a place where people write they're own definitions of different terms. In this particular case, the people here defined the word "emo"...
I have to admit, some definitions in there are pretty funny, but there are also ones that can be pretty harsh on people who set the trend for that style. Thought you might have some opinions on this.

As do I.
But I thought it majorly interesting about the definition where they explain how "emo" isnt short for "emotional" like many people think it is. The label really isnt a label, its more like just a type of music that people made a label by turning around the meaning completely. Like some of those definitions explain emo people as overexaggerated, sad, depressed, lonely people who cry about everything, when that just what people think thats what it is. Really, the definition about the "emotive" music seems to make more sense, and they have a sense of knowing what they are talking about when people put a bad name on "emo". What do you think?

I guess I dont follow it too much unless im wearing a black shirt with my hair to the side (which is pretty much every day ) but I do listen to the music a lot. I hear the word "poser" come out of lots of peoples mouths at school though . BUT they dont know my like I know me and I dont really care... i'll dress how I want to dress and listen to what I want!
